Background:
The history of witches in Europe is deeply tied to both misogyny and antisemitism.
Men feared women’s power, and many European Christians feared Jews as different and other.
Most of the modern aspects we assign to witches comes from both.
“The Witch House” is a piece of cinematic horror in musical form, invoking the terror of having trespassed beyond a dark threshold into something sinister and beyond comprehension.
